Encyclopedia of Mathematics via Springer

Mar 6, 2006 by

Did you lose your electronic access to the Encyclopedia of Mathematics through Springer? Here is what Springer suggests as a solution:

Recently Springer announced that the Encyclopedia of Mathematics, edited by Dr. M. Hazewinkel, would not be available via SpringerLink during our platform migration. We sincerely apologize not only for the disruption in service, but also for the delay in providing a solution and timely communication.

In response to concerns from customers and the library community, we are pleased to announce that this title will be made available for existing customers via a separate server.

All institutions that are entitled to access the 2002 version, ISBN 1-4020-0609-8 will be contacted with the appropriate URL and access instructions. Customers that have requested a CD-ROM will also be contacted and will have the option to access via the server.

We are, at present, developing an entirely new mathematics encyclopedia and once this is accessible via SpringerLink, we will alert customers of its availability for purchase.

We certainly hope that this will remedy our customer’s concerns and allow librarians to serve their patrons. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

With Regards,
George Scotti
