CHOICE: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries is now recruiting new faculty reviewers. There seems to be a great need for reviewers in science and technology:
- climate and weather
- physics
- mathematics
- astronomy
- earth sciences, especially earthquakes, seismology, volcanology
- welding
- electric motors
- gas turbines
- automotive technology
- heating, ventilation, and air conditioning
- transportation
- diesel engine technology; other engines
- lighting
- textiles and photography
- history and philosophy of science and technology
- nanotechnology
- materials science
- microwave-based communications
- electromagnetics
- oceanography
- cold regions/Arctic areas/Antarctica/snow and ice
- electrical engineering, especially signal processing
Reviewers are not paid but get to keep the books. They can also choose how many books they want to review per year. All reviewers must have a mailing address in the U.S. or Canada, and must be faculty actively teaching (at two- and four-year undergraduate institutions). To receive a reviewer booklet, contact Judith A. Douville or visit http://www.choicemag.org/.
