50% of scientific papers wrong?

Making the news yesterday was an article for the New Scientist spotlighting a PLoS Medicine paper where John Ioannidis, an epidemiologist at the University of Ioannina School of Medicine in Greece, estimates that about 50% of scientific papers sport a wrong conclusion. So, in which camp is Ioannidis’ own conclusion falls? Right or wrong?
