Jun 16, 2005 by

The Science and Technology Section of ACRL is focusing its General Discussion Group on science libraries and blogs at the ALA annual conference. Sunday June 26, 9:30-11:00, Holiday Inn City Center, Ohio.

Topic: Science Libraries and Blogs

Blogs. They’re everywhere. From the New York Times to the “Daily Show”… even Rosie O’Donnell has her own blog. What are science libraries and librarians doing with blogs? Join us for a discussion about blogs with two science librarian bloggers, Alesia McManus and George Porter. Alesia is Head of the Science Library at Binghamton University. She contributes to the “Science Library Blog” at http://library.lib.binghamton.edu/mt/science/. George, a librarian at the Sherman Fairchild Library of Engineering & Applied Science at the California Institute of Technology, is a contributor to the “scitech library question” at http://stlq.info/. We’ll also hear about the campus wide blogs, UThink, hosted by the University of Minnesota. You can check out UThink at http://blog.lib.umn.edu/.
