EEVL adds some CSA’s content

Mar 21, 2005 by

EEVL has partnered with CSA to distribute CSA’s Hot Topics essays on the UK site. Each in-depth text gives an overview of the subject, key citations (which lead to full abstracts) which sample the resources of CSA Illumina, and include links to relevant and substantial websites.

These are great introductions to a subject and will be useful to any sci-tech librarian and/or student (although I could imagine it could be tempting for a student to largely copy and paste into their own work).

The following Hot Topics are currently freely available:

  • Columbia Shuttle Tragedy
  • Nanomaterials: It’s a Small, Small World
  • Rapid Manufacturing
  • Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Technology and Cars
  • The Space Shuttle and Its Replacement
  • Titanium
  • Plastic Highway Bridges
  • MicroElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS)
  • Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
  • Hydrogen Storage
  • Quantum Cryptography: Privacy Through Uncertainty
  • Lost in Cyberspace : The BBC Domesday Project and the Challenge of Digital Preservation
  • Domestic Water Conservation: Greywater, Rainwater and Other Innovations
