New version of IEEE Xplore coming up

Jan 27, 2005 by

A new version of IEEE’s Xplore search interface, Xplore 2.0, will be arriving “early in the second quarter of 2005″. A beta version will be available for testing in a few weeks.

For what will be new:
The release will provide subscribers with full-text searching of all content — currently more than 1.1 million documents — and will enable free, basic searches for visitors. Another new search option will enable subscribers to focus their search on only the latest content.

IEEE Xplore 2.0 will also include new, functional “homepages” for all IEEE periodicals. Each homepage will provide a review of the publication’s aim and scope, along with links to all past and present issues. Author manuscript submission information will also be available through the homepages.

Also with the launch of IEEE Xplore 2.0, conference proceedings will be grouped together to show title history, instead of displaying multiple times in title listings.
