New Hot Topics essays

Nov 1, 2004 by

Hot Topics, a series of original essays on cutting-edge technologies, are the brain child of Computing Reviews, a collaboration of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and Reviews.com.

Leaders in the computer science community write the Hot Topics. Since they are published online and will be updated frequently, they reflect the rapid evolution of the computing field and keep pace with new developments after their initial publication. In addition, they include extensive resources, such as seminal articles, related web sites, conferences, and laboratories. These features make Hot Topics an excellent learning tool for students and allow professionals and academics to keep up with what’s new and hot in the field.

The first Hot Topic, Overlay Networks: Networking on Top of the Network, is by David Andersen of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT.
