ACRL-STS Publications Committee Virtual Meeting

Nov 26, 2004 by

The Publications Committee of the Science and Technology Section of the ACRL is trying out a new way of holding meetings, virtually that is. Instead of meeting at ALA Midwinter, the Committee will be meeting via email the week of December 6-10. Section members can attend the meetings as well.

See the extended entry for more details from Committee co-chair Barbara MacAlpine.

“Hot” items include discussion of the ISTL editorial board vacancy and progress toward migrating STS-L to ALA servers.

If you’d like to be part of STS’ first official virtual committee meeting, send your email address to Barbara MacAlpine ( I’ll
send you an agenda and any relevant reports made available ahead of

The procedure we will follow is as follows: One of the co-chairs will start an agenda item, committee members will respond, some degree of consensus will be reached (if necessary), and we will move on to other items. There will not be designated times during the day or the week when the meeting is officially “on.” Instead, members will be responsible for checking their email periodically and responding to the issue(s) under discussion. Other participants may make comments at any time during the week.
