Institutional repositories search with Google

Apr 9, 2004 by

Google has teamed up with MIT and 16 other universities to provide a way to search the institutions’ collections of scholarly papers. If all goes right with the pilot, the new search feature could appear in Google in a few months.

The search engine will peruse institutional repositories built with MIT-developed DSpace. The universities implicated also plan to work with providers of other search engines.
