The IEEE website is sporting a new section for its online collections and subscription options for institutions.

IEEE’s search interface, Xplore, has new capabilities. Among them are:
- search terms are highlighted in all search results, and secondary searches may be conducted within the results of primary searches.
- a dynamic subscription icon instantly identifies papers to which subscribers already have full-text access, and which papers are available outside of their
subscription.

Region 9 of IEEE (Latin America) launched an electronic journal published in Spanish and Portuguese, IEEE Latinamerica Transactions. During its first year of publication, the quarterly will be free. All content is new and has not been published elsewhere.

There will be free online seminars for users of Xplore (and librarians) in February. Attendees will have the chance to learn how to set up email alerts, find pre-published articles, use the keyword proximity operator, and more. You need high-speed Internet access and a voice line. The next sessions is on February 19th, at both 10:00 AM EST and 7:00 PM EST. Advance registration is required, and space is limited. Interested parties outside North America will have to incur the cost of the phone call.
