Springer deal

Earlier this spring, Candover Investments and Cinven had announced their intention to acquire BertelsmannSpringer. The deal has just been approved by the US Department of Justice. BertelsmannSpringer will be merged with Kluwers Academic and the new joint operation will be called Springer. The merge should be finalised on September 15th. The new Springer will be the world’s second-largest publisher of scientific, technical and medical titles. Just what we needed, less competition… [UKSG Serials-eNews Alert]
