I told you some time back of the Samuel Swett Green Award Transcript for the best virtual reference transaction transcript. The first winner is Tamsin Bolton from the University of Winnipeg Library. You can read the script (a good reference transaction indeed) at The deadline for the next award is July 14 2002.

On the career front: a private 4-year engineering college, the Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, will welcome its firt class in August in Needham, MA. They are looking for a Library/Knowledge Lab Director and a Resource Librarian. Collection building will be an important part of the job. See the Employment page at for more details. As an aside, it seems that those positions are considered staff.

I have an unknown user going about our computer lab in the evenings shutting down monitors and moving signs around… ooookaaaayyy… but why? I’m planning to spend a little one-on-one time with our security cameras system.
